The Floature buoy

Measure what matters.
Where the route needs it.

A compact, modular ocean-data platform built for continuous maritime sensing. Route-network buoys come ready to measure current, wind speed and wave height, while additional sensor modules let each deployment adapt to the question at hand.

A small platform with a clear job

Put reliable measurements directly on the route, connect them to Floature and adapt the sensing package without redesigning the whole buoy.

Compact by design

Built to deploy.
Sized to stay practical.

The base platform keeps handling and deployment straightforward while leaving room for route-specific sensing.

Base platform

Enough structure for the sensor package. No unnecessary bulk.

The 65 cm diameter and 95 cm overall height create a compact platform for sensor integration, solar power and deployment hardware. The 4 kg base weight refers to the buoy before project-specific sensor additions.

Standard route configuration

Three measurements form the operational baseline.

Buoys deployed along commercial routes are equipped by default with sensors for current, wind speed and wave height. Together, they capture the conditions that directly shape route-level maritime decisions.

Core electronics

One logger.
Many sensors.

At the center of each buoy is a CAN-based Data Logger developed by Ecurie Aix. It collects and structures sensor data before transmission, giving Floature a modular backbone for integrating new measurements without rebuilding the electronics around every deployment.

Material choice matters

Built from ocean plastic.
Built to understand the ocean.

Floature uses recycled ocean plastic in the buoy body, giving recovered material a new role in a product designed for ongoing maritime measurement.

01

Recovered materialOcean plastic is reused as part of the physical product.

02

03

Useful second lifeThe material becomes part of infrastructure that generates new ocean knowledge.
